Today was a sunset day...

So I guess I will try writing a bit again. I had a student with a seizure today-Grand Mal. Yikes. I was fine during it and then I shook later on. I did remember to time it, which is really important. The seizure lasted 45 seconds and then there were 4 minutes of unconsciousness afterwards. Long after the people left and the ambulance was gone one of the other students says, "Ms. B., So-And-So was acting funny earlier. They didn't say hi back to me and they were sliding down the wall." Ok, I guess So-And-So had 2 seizures today. Time to call the family...

Andrew has gone to meet his maker. He made it to graduation in May and to his 20th birthday in June. I will miss him and his smile.

Andrew and I at the mall on our community based instruction trip. This was taken in April when I was giving him home instruction. I wanted him to learn how to use the public bus at his new house to go out once in a while. He is now in the hospital after having heart failure. The doctors say he won't make it. I spent a few hours with him today and he says he is comfortable except for the respirator tube. Hospice is working with his family and his family wants him to come home. God speed and God bless, Andrew...

How cute is this baby???? He is Danny's great nephew, Ashton Patrick. His mom ate the Scalini's eggplant parmigiana on March 16th and the legend came true the very next day. http://www.scalinis.com/Bambino.htm He was given his middle name because of the day he was born, St. Patrick's Day. We are going to see him at the end of July. I cannot wait to see him and his older brother. His older brother used to look just like Haley Joel Osment of the "I see dead people" fame. Couple of cuties they are!

Anclote High School

*Whew*

I am now an Anclote High School shark. Danny may use this as an excuse to watch Jaws another million times. What is it with men and that movie?

Back to the *whew* part... I am so incredibly blessed to have gotten this job. The bad economy, teachers being laid off, home foreclosures, being a single mom with a kid in college, etc. I know what unemployment feels like and it is horrible. I've had my share of panic attacks in the middle of the night. I hope the recession ends soon.

I am so terribly sad to leave all of my Mitchell friends, especially my lunch bunch. I also am going to miss being able to get any question answered. They are a mass of knowledge. Having said all that, I know they will be only a phone call away and they have promised me inclusion in any nights out. Another I have learned is that I would rather be the one leaving than the one left. I have seen some great friends leave and I hated it. I am off to an adventure and the school is supposed to be 'hooked up' with all the latest techno geek products. As for the video cameras, well...I am going to have to trek to the bathroom to reapply deororant. No more ducking behind a filing cabinet during my planning. I know, I know, such sacrifices...

Happy Mother's Day

... to all you mothers, and to all you "motherly" types! I miss you grandma.
My family had pizza, presents and laughs at Guido's. My word that pizza is good.

My (future) job is a testament to patience. It's this rumor and that rumor.... I should know something by the end of May. I am missing this year already!
